HIT AND RUN TRAFFIC CRASH

STH 154 / SUGAR MAPLE ROAD

On November 14, 2018 at approximately 4:17 p.m., the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a vehicle versus Amish buggy traffic crash on STH 154 near Sugar Maple Road in the Town of Washington.  It was reported that the vehicle that struck the buggy had left the scene.  Sauk County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the scene.

The initial investigation showed that the suspect vehicle traveled westbound on STH 154 through Hillpoint and continued westbound toward Richland County after the crash.  Witness statements and vehicle debris at the scene indicate that the vehicle involved was a black GMC sport utility vehicle, possibly a Tahoe or Yukon, from model years 2007 to 2014.  The vehicle involved left the passenger side mirror assembly at the scene and should have significant damage to the front passenger side quarter panel and fender.

The occupants of the buggy were not injured but the buggy sustained major damage.
