STH 33 Crash

On September 2, 2013 at approximately 3:30 PM the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a single vehicle roll over crash on STH 33 east of Manmound Road in the Township of Greenfield.  Sauk County Sheriff’s Deputies, Baraboo Fire Department, and Baraboo District Ambulance were immediately sent to the scene.

First Responders located a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer rolled over in the east ditch with the operator, who was the lone occupant, partially ejected.  Resuscitation efforts at the scene were not successful and the operator was pronounced dead at the scene by Sauk County Coroner Greg Hahn.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the 2005 Chevrolet was eastbound on STH 33 when the operator lost control of the vehicle.  The operator then over corrected causing the vehicle to overturn into the east ditch.  The operator was not wearing a seatbelt.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin and it is unknown if alcohol was a factor at this point.  This crash remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office and Sauk County Coroner Office.
