STH 78 Crash

On October 14, 2015 at 5:55pm the Sauk County Communications Center received a call of a two vehicle accident on State Highway 78 at the intersection with Keller Road in the Town of Sumpter. 

Emergency units from the Sauk City Fire Department, Sauk Prairie Ambulance, Sauk Prairie Police Department and the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the accident.

Evidence at the scene indicated that one vehicle failed to yield from Keller Road turning north onto State Highway 78 in the path of a south bound vehicle on State Highway 78.

Both drivers were transported for their injuries.  One driver was taken by Med Flight to UW Hospital and the other driver was taken to Sauk Prairie Hospital by Sauk Prairie Ambulance.   Both drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles.

This accident is still under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department and the driver’s names are being withheld at this time pending notification of family.
