Traffic Arrest

**Special News Release**
March 21, 2011

On March 19, 2011 at approximately 12:20am a Sauk County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle at CTH W and Neuman Road in the Township of Greenfield for no registration plate lamp and for lane deviation.
The Deputy made contact with the operator, Theodore Bauer, age 46 of Baraboo, WI. As the Deputy was speaking with Bauer, the Deputy observed a marijuana smoking device inside the vehicle. The Deputy also believed that Bauer may be intoxicated. Bauer failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated. Upon searching the vehicle, the Deputy located the marijuana smoking device, a baggie of marijuana, and a loaded and uncased .45 Colt hand gun underneath the front passenger seat.
It was learned that Bauer had three prior convictions of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated. Bauer was incarcerated in the Sauk County Jail on charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated 4th Offense, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
