Traffic Crash Highway 14 at County Line Road

On June 29th, 2018 at approximately 4:52 PM the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a motor vehicle crash on US Highway 14 east of County Line Road. Initial information received by the dispatch center was of a two vehicle crash with multiple injuries and multiple people trapped in the vehicles along with complete road blockage.

Preliminary investigation showed that a 2004 Chevrolet Impala was traveling west on Hwy 14 when it struck a 1999 Plymouth Voyager traveling east in the eastbound lane. The Impala came to rest blocking the westbound lane of traffic and the Voyager came to rest in the ditch on the south side of the roadway. One occupant was able to remove himself from the Voyager, however the other two occupants were trapped and needed extrication for removal. The sole occupant of the Impala was also trapped and needed extrication for removal from the vehicle. The driver of the Impala as well as both passengers of the Voyager were taken to UW Hospital via ambulance. The driver of the Voyager was transported to UW Hospital via UW Med Flight. Highway 14 was closed for approximately three hours during the investigation of the crash and the crash remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were members of the Spring Green Fire Department, Spring Green EMS, Lone Rock Fire Department, Lone Rock EMS, Plain EMS, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, UW Med Flight and George’s Auto.
