Traffic Crash HWY H and Chadwick Road

December 14, 2010

On December 14, 2010 at approximately 12:10 PM the Sauk County Communication Center received a 911 call reporting a two car crash on HWY H at Chadwick Road in the Township of Winfield. The reporting party indicated that there were several injuries.

Upon arrival by the Sauk County Deputies, it was determined that a blue Volkswagen being driven by Martin Lopez Contreras of Wisconsin Dells lost control on the slushy roads and began to slide sideways across the center line into the northbound lane. A 2008 Nissan driven by David Marchant of New Hampshire struck the Lopez Contreras vehicle on the passenger side as it slide across the highway.

David Marchant and his passenger Regina Coel of Mukwonago, Wisconsin, were both transported via ambulance to the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. Both were treated for their injuries and released.

Martin Lopez Contreras and his passenger Jose Hernandez of Wisconsin Dells were both transported via ambulance to the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. Lopez Contreras was treated and released. Hernandez was transported to UW Hospital by Med Flight.

Sauk County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Reedsburg Fire Department and Reedsburg Ambulance Service. This crash remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.
