Traffic Crash/OWI Cause Injury

TRAFFIC CRASH / OWI CAUSE INJURY

 

On October 23, 2019 at approximately 1:24 a.m., the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a single vehicle traffic crash with injuries on CTH A south of Side Road in the Town of Fairfield.  Sauk County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, the Baraboo District Ambulance Service, and the Baraboo Fire Department responded to the scene. 

The initial investigation showed that a 2016 Hyundai Sonata was traveling southbound on CTH A when it crossed the centerline, departed the roadway, and struck several trees before coming to rest.  The operator of the vehicle was identified as Kenneth R. Greengrass, age 22, of Baraboo, WI.  Greengrass was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.  Greengrass showed evidence of impairment by alcohol.  Lucas D. Stacy, age 22, of Madison, WI was a passenger in the vehicle.   Stacy was wearing a seatbelt.  Both Greengrass and Stacy were transported to local hospitals for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

Greengrass will be referred to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office for the charge of Cause Injury Operating While Intoxicated. 

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Baraboo Fire Department, Baraboo District Ambulance Service, and Bill’s Towing.
