USH 12 and Sauk Prairie Rd Crash

Traffic Crash USH 12 and Sauk Prairie Rd

On February 3, 2023 at approximately 8:08 a.m., the Sauk County Communications Center received a report of a semi vs pickup truck crash on USH 12 at Sauk Prairie Rd in the Town of Prairie Du Sac.  It was reported that both vehicles were off of USH 12.   Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, and Fire personnel were sent to the scene.

Initial accident investigation showed a 2015 Dodge Ram was northbound on USH 12 and began to slow down prior to Sauk Prairie Rd. A 2011 Freightliner Semi was also northbound and had slowed down as well. The semi attempted to maneuver around the pickup and both vehicles collided.  Both vehicles ended up in the ditch at the intersection of Sauk Prairie Rd and USH 12.

The driver of the semi was not injured.  The driver of the pickup sustained serious injuries and was transported to Sauk Prairie Hospital and later flown to UW Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Sauk Prairie Ambulance Service, Sauk City Fire Department, UW MedFlight, and Sauk Prairie Police Department.
