USH 12 Crash

On September 2, 2011 at 12:09 pm, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a motorcycle accident on USH 12 near Old Bluff Trail Road in the Township of Sumpter. Deputies from the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department responded along with the Wisconsin State Patrol, Sauk Prairie Ambulance, Sauk City Fire Department and the Baraboo District Ambulance.
The driver of the motorcycle was south bound on USH 12 when he lost control of his 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle while attempting to negotiate a curve on the roadway and entered the west ditch line.
The 49 year old motorcyclist is from Duluth Minnesota and was travelling alone on his motorcycle at the time of the accident. The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet and suffered head and internal injuries from the accident and had to be Med Flighted to University in Madison for those injuries.
The driver’s name is not being released at this time pending notification of family and friends. It is believed that excessive speed and road conditions contributed to the cause of the accident.
