USH 12 Crash

On September 3, 2012 at 3:17 PM the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a two vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of USH 12 and CTH Z in the Township of Prairie Du Sac. Sauk City Fire, Sauk Prairie EMS and the Sauk County Sheriff's Office responded. Upon arrival on the scene, Sauk Prairie EMS requested Baraboo Ambulance to respond as well as two Med Flight helicopters.
The initial investigation revealed that a vehicle driving southbound on USH 12 began to make an eastbound turn onto CTH Z. This vehicle struck a northbound vehicle head on.
The driver of the south/eastbound vehicle was transported to UW Hospital via Med Flight. A passenger in the northbound vehicle was also transported to UW Hospital via Med Flight. A passenger in the south/eastbound vehicle was transported to Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital, while the driver of the northbound vehicle was also transported to Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital. The nature of injuries to all involved is unknown at this time, however none are believed to be life threatening.
The cause of the accident is believed to be the operator of the south/eastbound vehicle failing to yield the right of way. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The accident is still under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff's Office.
