Vehicle Pursuit/OWI Cause Injury

On Saturday, March 8th, 2025 at approximately 7:12 PM a Sauk County Sheriff's Deputy was conducting traffic enforcement on US Highway 12 in the township of Baraboo. The deputy observed a 2015 BMW sedan driving south on US Highway 12, being operated recklessly weaving in and out of traffic at an extremely high rate of speed. The deputy attempted a traffic stop on the BMW which fled from the scene with the deputy in pursuit with speeds reaching over 120 miles per hour. The BMW exited US Highway 12 onto County Road W and continued westbound with speeds estimated to be around 90 miles per hour. The BMW lost control near the intersection of County Road W and Lover's Lane, leaving the roadway and striking several trees sustaining heavy damage. Two passengers in the BMW fled the scene on foot and were located at a nearby residence with both having sustained injuries from the crash. The driver of the BMW also fled on foot and was located at a residence on Hatchery Road. 

Sauk County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the residence and located and identified the driver of the BMW as Isaiah Vetor, age 18 of Adams, WI. Vetor was taken into custody and charged with the following: 2 counts of 2nd-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, 2 counts of Felony Bail Jumping, OWI 1 Causing Injury, Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control, Operating while Suspended, Possess Open Intoxicants in a Vehicle - Driver, Reckless Driving - Endanger Safety, Unreasonable and Imprudent Speed and Vehicle Operator Flee/Elude Officer. Vetor was taken to the Sauk County Jail and transferred into custody of the jail staff.
