Woman injured after being struck several times with loaded firearm - Arrest Made

On Friday, July 22, 2016 at about 6:30AM, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a physical altercation resulting in injuries to at least one person involved at a housing development in the Township of Delton, Sauk County. A short time later, additional reports were received that there were possibly shots fired as part of this same disturbance, and suspect and vehicle descriptions were provided.

Sauk County Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives responded to the area to investigate, and learned a short time later that the victim was transported by private vehicle to a local hospital and was being treated for injuries sustained in the incident.

The investigation revealed that the suspect, Raul G. Reynosa, struck a female victim several times in the face and head area with a loaded firearm causing significant injuries. At this time it is believed that shots were fired from the same weapon used in the beating in a separate disturbance a short time earlier.

As a result of the investigation thus far, Raul G. Reynosa, 26, of rural Baraboo, was arrested and charged with;

  • Battery with Substantial Risk of Great Bodily Harm – Class H Felony – WI Statute 940.19 (6), a fine not to exceed $10,000 or imprisonment not to exceed 6 years, or both.

  • Causing Injury by Negligent Handling of a Dangerous Weapon –Class I Felony – WI Statute 940.24 (1), a fine not to exceed $10,000 or imprisonment not to exceed 3 years and 6 months, or both.

Reynosa was incarcerated in the Sauk County Jail where he will await a bail hearing on Monday, July 25th, 2016.
