“This meeting is open to the public. SAUK COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

MEETING MINUTES

 

COMMITTEE: Aging & Disability Resource Center and Veterans Service Office Committee

DATE / TIME:  Monday, October 12th, 2020     4:00 P.M.

PLACE:           Room 213   West Square Building,

Members Present:  Curry, Dorner, Riek, Polivka

Members Absent:   Bushweiler (excused)

County Personnel:  Susan Blodgett, ADRC; Quinn Hause, ADRC; Stefka Zomer, ADRC; Tony Tyczynski, VSO; Sandy Deich, VSO;

Others Present:  Marty Krueger

 

Curry called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was verified.

 

MOTION (Polivka/Riek) to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

MOTION (Riek/Dorner) to approve the meeting minutes from September 9th, 2020.  Motion carried unanimously.

Communications:  None

 

Tony Tyczynski, Veterans Service Office:

 

  1. VSO departmental updates and service trends

  2. Tyczynski discussed the outreach by VSO; He stated that VSO visited Reedsburg Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and he attended the Cultural sensitivity training. Discussion followed, No action taken.

  3. Tyczynski discussed the current Veterans case trends –getting the exams done due to Covid has become a challenge. Discussion followed;

  4. Tyczynski reviewed the year to date activity for his department. He presented to the board his monthly report. Discussion followed. No action taken

 

Krueger informed the board that in the last few months he and the Finance committee were reviewing the new position requests for the 2021 budget. One of the requests is for a full time Veterans Readjustment Counselor. Krueger stated that the need for a Veterans Counselor is great in Sauk County. After some research and discussions, this request was postponed. Kruger informed the board members that the Finance committee decided to set aside $80,000.00 in the contingency fund for the position.  

 

      b)  Tyczynski presented the monthly financial statements for his department.  Discussion Followed, No action taken

      c)  Consider approval of the Monthly Invoices – Tyczynski presented his monthly invoice report. Discussion followed.

 

      MOTION (Polivka/Dorner) to approve the monthly invoices for September 2020 in the amount of $ 7,107.49. Motion carried unanimously

 

Susan Blodgett, Aging & Disability Resource Center

 

a) Blodgett presented to the board her monthly report. She informed the board that ADRC is mailing surveys to our clients. She presented the results from transportation surveys for the Volunteer Escort Program. Overall the responses are truly appreciative; however we have learned of issues with MTM that provides transportation for Medicaid programs.  Blodgett informed the board members that ADRC will hold a Public hearing on November 19th, 2020 for transportation grant 85.21.   Our Nutrition program needs to be prepared for another COVID wave and in case we can’t receive meals from the HCC and ADRC is looking to purchase freezers to start saving meals for our frozen route.  Discussion followed.

 

b-c) Blodgett presented the monthly financial statements and list of invoices for her department. Discussion followed.

 

MOTION (Polivka/Riek) to approve the September 2020 bills in the amount of $ 34, 927.12. Motion carried unanimously.

 

 

Aging & Disability Resource Center of Eagle County Board Update: Discussion followed. No action taken.

MOTION (Dorner/Polivka) to adjourn until Wednesday, November 11th, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. Motion carried unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 4:50 p.m.
