7) Service Reports: Blodgett reported that due to Covid-19 ADRC had to make some changes in the ADRC programs.
a) Nutrition: Blodgett informed the board that due to COVID-19 pandemics ADRC had to stop delivering hot meals to our clients. ADRC was doing weekly frozen meal deliveries and also delivered emergency food bags to our clients. All congregate dining centers were closed and probably will remain closed until end of 2020.This year due to the pandemic GWAAR change the requirements for meals assessments, so every individual over the age of 60 can receive a home delivered meal. ADRC had to sign a contract with Sauk County catering to receive frozen meals due to not being able to receive meals form the Health Care center. We restarted the hot meals from the Health Care center on June 15, 2020. During the pandemic the dining center managers were making daily phone calls to our clients. In June we were able to restart carry-out meals.
b) Caregiver: Blodgett stated that due to COVID-19 pandemic ADRC wasn’t able to do any caregiver meetings. ADRC put together 30 caregiver kits and 7 grandparents’ kits that were delivered to our caregivers/grandparents participant groups. ADRC is planning to purchase iPads for our caregivers so we can start having some workshops via Zoom.
c) Evidence-based Classes for 2020: We were not able to do another Stepping on class or any other evidence based classes due to the pandemic. We’re planning to have a virtually Powerful tools class in July/August 2020.
d) Volunteer updates – When Covid-19 pandemic started Nixle put out a message that ADRC is looking for volunteers. We received a huge amount of applicants who wanted to help us run the meal program. Blodgett informed the board that this year we didn’t had our annual Volunteer breakfast in May, instead we purchased and mailed to all volunteers a gift card from Culvers.
e) Dementia updates - Reedsburg Dementia group has been meeting virtually. Gina Laack and Brianna Wipperfurth are working on pilot online version of Boost your Brain workshop - 4 Sauk County residents for 8 weeks
8) Other ADRC updates: Blodgett informed the board that the regional budget is not fully complete. Discussion followed, no action taken. Blodgett informed the board that due to COVID-19 regulations and the limited space that ADRC have we needed to make some adjustments to utilize the office space – we have social workers sharing offices, so some of them need to work remotely and rotate days/offices. Discussion followed. No action taken.
8) Next meeting date and time: Thursday, August 27th, 2020 at 9:00 am- West Square Building
9) MOTION (Dorner/Curry) to adjourn until Thursday, August 27th, 2020 at 9:00a.m. Motion carried unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
