Land Use/Sanitary Permit Application

Introduction

PLEASE NOTE:  THE PERMIT REVIEW PROCESS TAKES 7-10 DAYS.

As we start the new year, please be sure to have the correct year's application.  Any application that is postmarked after January 1, 2024 MUST be a 2024 application, or the entire package will be returned to the sender.
 

Please note there are several uses that may require a land use permit and we suggest contacting our office prior to any construction, development or excavation to avoid penalties or added fines. If the construction project you are involved in is not listed below, any of our staff can provide you with a complete listing of what projects require a permit in Sauk County or refer to the brochure below "Do I need a permit?".  Refer to the document titled "Land Resources and Environment List" (link found below) for a list of fees.

Several sections of the application will provide specific examples of what the department requires, such a plot plans, floor plans, etc.    Please contact the department if you require assistance in filling out an application for permits.

Be sure to read the entire application and sign and date before sending into our office. Your permit application must be accompanied by a plot plan showing all lot lines, and your proposed building, as well as any other structures on the site, septic tank and field (if applicable) and a check made out to Sauk County Land Resources & Environment in the amount listed on the fee schedule.
