CONSERVE SAUK FILM FEST ANNOUNCES 2021 LINEUP
BARABOO, WISCONSIN; October 7, 2021 – The public is invited to the 2021 Conserve Sauk Film Festival on Saturday, November 6 from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at UW-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County at 1006 Connie Rd, Baraboo, WI.
The 2021 Festival will include screenings of a wide array of conservation-focused films. Films including An American Ascent, Gather, Fantastic Fungi, and Felled will be featured at this year’s festival. The festival also has the honor of premiering the new documentary on the Baraboo River, Running Free: The Baraboo River Restoration Story. The complete film lineup can be found on the website at www.conservesaukfilmfest.org. The event will also include facilitated discussions on the films and their themes. A lunch break will take place from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM, during this time the Bluff View Café will be open for lunch and local organizations will have information set up for attendees to enjoy. Stop in to grab lunch at the scenic Bluff View Café on campus and talk with a wide variety of local organizations about their conservation efforts and opportunities for involvement or head off campus and enjoy lunch at one of the many great restaurants in the area.
Tickets are free, but registration is required for this event. Tickets are good for the entire event (10 AM until 5 PM) with unlimited reentry. Each attendee must have their own ticket. Tickets are available online through Eventbrite. All people on the UW-PBSC campus must wear a mask over their mouth and nose.
Conserve Sauk Film Festival is a collaborative event to educate attendees and participants about important resources, environmental challenges we face, best management practices that can be implemented on farms or in our own yards, and lessons we can draw from significant environmental history or historical figures. We hope to inspire creative thought, discussion, and potential solutions to these challenges.
Conserve Sauk Film Festival is supported, in part, by a grant from the Sauk County UW Extension, Arts, & Culture Committee and Wisconsin Arts Board, with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts. Other sponsors include Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library of Baraboo; Compeer Financial; Friends of the Campus, Inc.; International Crane Foundation; Sauk County Conservation Network; Sauk County Land Resources and Environment Department; University of Wisconsin-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County; The Nature Conservancy; and Wisconsin Farmers Union.
Local partners organizing the 2021 Film Festival include Sauk County Land Resources and Environment Department; University of Wisconsin-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County; and the Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library of Baraboo.
