SAUK COUNTY BOARD OF HUMAN SERVICES

Meeting:                        January 9, 2017, 3:30 p.m., Room 213, West Square Building, Baraboo, WI

Members Present:      Joan Fordham, John Miller, James Bowers, Peter Vedro, Julie Fleming, Jean Berlin, John Deitrich, Connie Lehman

Members Excused:     Beverly Vertein

Chair, Joan Fordham called the meeting to order and certified compliance with the Open Meeting Law.

Motion by Jim Bowers, seconded by Jean Berlin to adopt agenda.  Motion Carried.

Motion by Jean Berlin, seconded by Jim Bowers to approve the minutes for the previous Human Services Board meeting held on December 5, 2016.  Motion Carried.

Board Materials:  Distributed electronically

Business Items:

Review and Approve Monthly Vouchers:  Distributed electronically.  Jennifer Hahn reviewed the Monthly Voucher Report.  Motion by Jean Berlin, seconded by John Miller to approve monthly vouchers in the amount of $1,646,456.36.  Motion Carried

Accounts Receivable Report:  Jennifer Hahn distributed and reviewed the Accounts Receivable Report for November 2016.  No hardships have been authorized at this time.

John Deitrich arrived at 3:34 p.m.

Approval for Collection Requests:  Motion by Jean Berlin, seconded by John Deitrich, to approve sending 10 accounts to Credit Management Control for $9,344.86.  Motion carried.

Monthly Reports:  Distributed electronically.  Jennifer Hahn discussed the November 2016 Volatile line report.

Approve 2017 County Child Care Contract:  Motion by Connie Lehman, seconded by John Deitrich, to approve the 2017 County Child Care Contract in the amount of $104,040.   Motion carried. 

Peter Vedro arrived at 3:37 p.m.

Approve Resolution for Dissolution of Long Term Care District:  Motion by John Deitrich, seconded by Jim Bowers, to approve the Resolution for Dissolution of Long Term Care District. Motion carried. 

Approve Resolution Commending Colleen Fehrenbach for Over 17 Years of Service to the People of Sauk County:  Motion by John Deitrich, seconded by Jim Bowers, to approve the Resolution Commending Colleen Fehrenbach for Over 17 Years of Service to the People of Sauk County. Motion carried. 

Approve Resolution Commending Joyce Dumke for Over 38 Years of Service to the People of Sauk County:  Motion by John Deitrich, seconded by Jim Bowers, to approve the Resolution Commending Joyce Dumke for Over 38 Years of Service to the People of Sauk County. Motion carried. 

Approve Resolution Commending Sue Williamson for Over 32 Years of Service to the People of Sauk County:  Motion by John Deitrich, seconded by Jim Bowers, to approve the Resolution Commending Sue Williamson for Over 32 Years of Service to the People of Sauk County. Motion carried. 

Department Updates:

Resolution in Support of Increased Funding in the Children and Family Aids Allocation: Dan explained this resolution was approved in a previous meeting.  This was just formality to obtain the appropriate signatures.

Presentation on Homelessness – Linda Faivre, Central Wisconsin Community Action Council: Linda Faivre will be retiring January 31, 2017.  She introduced Jacob Johnson who is being trained to take over for Linda.  Rapid Rehousing started in late 2014 for consumers who are at least six month residents of Sauk County, a single parent or currently pregnant.  In 2015, CWCAC approved 24 for Rapid Rehousing.  In 2016, 49 were approved.  The services provided starts with finding housing for the approved consumers, assisting with the security deposit and two months’ rent.  They also work with money management, job searching, changing credit, etc. 

Wendy Schneider presented the financials from CWCAC. 

County Ambassador Program Team (CAP): Dan briefly described what to expect with the upcoming County Ambassador Program Team meeting on the 18th.  John Miller and John Deitrich will attend.

Jean Berlin excused herself at 4:26 p.m.

Next Meeting: 

The next meeting of the Sauk County Human Services Board will be February 6, 2017, at 3:30 p.m. in Room 213.
