SAUK COUNTY BOARD OF HUMAN SERVICES

Meeting:                       January 6, 2020, 3:30 p.m., Room 213, West Square Building, Baraboo, WI

Members Present:      Patricia Rego, Brandon Lohr, Glen Johnson, James Bowers, John Miller, Valerie McAuliffe, Cliff Thompson

Members Excused:      Timothy McCumber

Members Absent:

Chair, Patricia Rego called the meeting to order and certified compliance with the Open Meeting Law.

Motion by Valerie McAuliffe, seconded by Brandon Lohr, to adopt agenda.  Motion carried.

Motion by Glen Johnson, seconded by James Bowers, to approve the minutes for the previous Human Services

Board Meeting held on December 9, 2019.  Motion carried.

Public Comment:  None.

Communication:

Board Materials: Distributed electronically. Dan Brattset introduced Cliff Thompson as a new community member for the board. Dan will be giving an orientation to Mr. Thompson and another community member.  Their names will be submitted for approval to this committee.

Business Items:

a. Review and Approve Monthly Vouchers:  Distributed electronically. Stephanie Box reviewed the Monthly Voucher Report. Motion by Valerie McAuliffe, seconded by John Miller, to approve monthly vouchers in the amount of $1,835,525.63.  Motion carried.

b. Accounts Receivable Report:  Stephanie Box distributed and reviewed the Accounts Receivable Report for November 2019.

c. Approval for Collection Requests:  Stephanie Box discussed the collection agency process.  Motion by Glen Johnson, seconded by Valerie McAuliffe, to approve sending 28 accounts to Credit Management Control for $11,605.50.  Motion carried.

d. Monthly Reports:  Distributed electronically.  Stephanie Box discussed the November 2019 Volatile Line report.

e. Approve 2020 State County Child Welfare Contract. Stephanie discussed the Child Welfare contract with Department of Children & Families (DCF).  Motion by Valerie McAuliffe, seconded by John Miller, to approve 2020 State County Child Welfare Contract in the amount of $1,892,534.00.  Motion carried.

Motion by Valerie McAuliffe, seconded by James Bowers to amend the agenda to move to the Department Updates.

Department Updates:

Presentation on Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and Peer Specialist – Jessica Mijal/Lory Seffrood: Jessica Mijal, Mental Health & Recovery Services Manager, discussed the Medication Assistance Treatment (MAT) program. Lory Seffrood, Peer Support Specialist, discussed her role in the recovery services program. The MAT program helps those with addictions to make goals, help with stabilization, connect with recovery, get medications if needed, etc.

Business Items (continued):

f. Approve 2020 State County Child Care Contract.  Stephanie Box discussed the Child Care contract. Motion by John Miller, seconded by Valerie McAuliffe, to approve 2020 State County Child Care Contract in the amount of $105,476.00.  Motion carried.

g. Reappoint Julie Eckert to the Comprehensive Community Services/Families Come First Coordinating Committee (citizen member) 2 year-term: Motion by James Bowers, seconded by Brandon Lohr, to Approve Reappointment of Julie Eckert to the Comprehensive Community Services/Families Come First Coordinating Committee (citizen member) 2 year-term.  Motion carried.

h.Reappoint Ryan Catterson to the Comprehensive Community Services/Families Come First Coordinating Committee (citizen member) 2 year-term: Motion by Valerie McAuliffe, seconded by Brandon Lohr, to Approve Reappointment of Ryan Catterson to the Comprehensive Community Services/Families Come First Coordinating Committee (citizen member) 2 year-term. Motion carried.

i. Approve Resolution Commending Beverly Vertein for Over 19 Years of Service as a Citizen Member of the Sauk County Human Services Board: Motion by James Bowers, seconded by Glen Johnson, to Approve Resolution Commending Beverly Vertein for Over 19 Years of Service as a Citizen Member of the Sauk County Human Services Board. Motion carried.

j. Approve Resolution Commending Hazel Coppernoll for Over 31 Years of Service to the People of Sauk County: Motion by Valerie McAuliffe, seconded by James Bowers, to Approve Resolution Commending Hazel Coppernoll for Over 31 Years of Service to the People of Sauk County. Motion carried.

k. Approve Resolution Commending Jane Rufe for Over 27 Years of Service to the People of Sauk County: Motion by Valerie McAuliffe, seconded by Glen Johnson, to Approve Resolution Commending Jane Rufe for Over 27 Years of Service to the People of Sauk County. Motion carried.

Next Meeting: The next meeting of the Sauk County Human Services Board will be February 10, 2020, at 3:30 p.m. in Room 213.
