Chair, Patricia Rego called the meeting to order and certified compliance with the Open Meeting Law.
Motion by Valerie McAuliffe, seconded by Kristin White Eagle to adopt agenda with interchanging Department Updates a. and b. Motion carried.
Human Services Board Organization:
Election of Officers: Valerie McAuliffe nominated Patricia Rego for Chair. Motion by Valerie McAuliffe, seconded by Cliff Thompson to close nominations and elect Patricia Rego as Chair. Motion carried.
Kristin White Eagle nominated Valerie McAuliffe for Vice Chair. Motion by Joel Chrisler, seconded by Kristin White Eagle to close nominations and elect Valerie McAuliffe as Vice Chair. Motion carried.
Valerie McAuliffe nominated Joel Chrisler for Secretary. Motion by Kristin White Eagle, seconded by Valerie McAuliffe to close nominations and elect Joel Chrisler as Secretary. Motion carried.
Set Meeting Date and Time: Motion by Valerie McAuliffe, seconded by Joel Chrisler to set meetings for the second Monday of the month at 5:00 p.m. Motion carried.
Approve Minutes of Previous Meeting:
Motion by Valerie McAuliffe, seconded by Kristin White Eagle to approve the minutes for the previous Human Services Board Meeting held on March 9, 2020. Motion carried.

Communications/Director’s Report:
Board Materials: Distributed electronically. Dan welcomed the new board members and discussed the materials.
Business Items:
Review and Approve Monthly Vouchers: Distributed electronically. Stephanie Box reviewed the Monthly Voucher Report. Motion by Valerie McAuliffe, seconded by Joel Chrisler, to approve monthly vouchers in the amount of $2,134,635.97. Motion carried.
Accounts Receivable Report: Distributed electronically. Stephanie Box reviewed the Accounts Receivable Report for March 2020.
Approval for Collection Requests: No collection requests were sent last month. Motion by Cliff Thompson, seconded by Valerie McAuliffe, to approve sending 24 accounts to Credit Management Control for $6,523.71. Motion carried.
Monthly Reports: Distributed electronically. Stephanie Box discussed the March 2020 Volatile Line report.
Department Updates:
Presentation on Child Advocacy Center/Safe Harbor – Lori Follendorf, CPS Supervisor; Jenna Greenwood, CPS Supervisor; Elizabeth LaBroscian, Hope House: Dan Brattset introduced Jenna Greenwood, Lori Follendorf and Elizabeth LaBroscian. Jenna, Elizabeth, and Lori explained the services Child Advocacy Center (CAC) provides for Child Protective Services (CPS), the importance of it, and the challenges DHS and other Sauk County agencies are encountering. They explained the need to have a facility in Sauk County, for all Sauk County agencies, not only as a cost savings for these agencies, but revenue for DHS. This will also benefit the citizens of Sauk County that are in need of these services. Discussion occurred.
2019 Annual Report and Preliminary 2021 Budget Projections: Dan Brattset reviewed the attached documents. Discussion occurred.
Update on COVID-19 Related Issues/Questions: Dan Brattset discussed some of the challenges DHS is having with the current COVID-19 pandemic. Discussion occurred.
Human Services Materials: Dan Brattset discussed the attached packet of information, which included the services DHS provides, along with acronym definitions.
Next Meeting: The next meeting of the Sauk County Human Services Board will be June 8, 2020, at 5:00 p.m.; location to be determined.
