Sauk County Flooding

Flooding

Flood Damage?  Concered about your well water?   Read more...... information on Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene is offering free drinking water tests for private well owners affected by the 2008 flooding.

The Wisconsin Division of Public Health has received a grant to provide
funding for follow-up testing for total coliform from the 2008 flood
impacted areas. As a result, you have the opportunity to participate in
fee exempt testing for total coliform bacteria on your well water. It is
recommended that a private well be tested annually in Wisconsin, so this
program allows you the opportunity to have your well water tested to
determine whether it is microbiologically safe for use.

If you choose to participate in this program, please contact us at the
telephone number or e-mail address below and a water sample kit will be
sent to you. The testing is fee exempt but you must pay for the shipping
of the sample back to the lab. Once you receive the kit you have 2 weeks
to return your sample to the State Laboratory of Hygiene. The water sample
should be collected and shipped on the same day. Please fully complete and
enclose the associated paperwork with your sample. Because of testing
requirements, you will need to collect and ship your sample any day Monday
through Thursday. Please do NOT collect your sample on a Friday, Saturday
or Sunday.
