Tips & Strategies to help prevent the spread of disease in the Workplace

  • Practice social distancing
    • Spread out at work. If space permits, work at least six feet from others
    • Consider telework and flex scheduling options
    • Utilize video/phone conferencing for meetings
  • Prepare for and monitor absenteeism
    • Consider the needs of hourly and un-benefitted employees
    • Review and update sick leave policies
    • Actively encourage sick employees and families to stay home
    • Separate sick individuals immediately and send home
    • Update sick leave policies for family care
  • Actively encourage hand hygiene, cough/sneeze into tissue/elbow
    • Provide adequate supplies, including hand sanitizer
    • Perform routine cleaning
    • Provide adequate supplies, including disposable wipes
  • Continuity of Operations/Emergency Operations Plans
    • Assess your essential functions
    • Cross-train your staff to perform essential functions
    • Be prepared to change your business practices if needed
  • Organizational Communication
    • Create/update your employee contact list
    • Establish a process to communicate to employees and partners
  • Use reputable sources to stay informed about the COVID-19 situation
