It is Open Enrollment Time for the Affordable Care Act!

 

The Health Insurance Marketplace is for those people who do not have health coverage through employment, Medicare or Medicaid.

Just 45 days of Open Enrollment for 2020 coverage:  Nov. 1 through Dec. 15

Visit www.HealthCare.gov or call 800-318-2596.

 

  • Get health insurance.
  • Renew your plan…but shop around first!
  • Compare plans.  Make sure your provider & medications are covered.
  • Update your info on income & family members any time of year.

How to enroll:

  1. HealthCare.gov: on-line application.  You will need an e-mail address.
  2. Go to “Find Local Help” at this site for locations of local trained “navigators” and health insurance agents.
  3. Apply by phone: 800-318-2596.

Individuals can make an appointment with Reedsburg Area Medical Center (608-768-6132) or SSM Health/St. Clare Hospital (608-356-1334) for help.

Do you need a computer?  Visit your local library.

Some medical coverage is available any time of the year:  BadgerCare Plus for income eligible single adults, children and pregnant women* who are citizens and BadgerCare Plus Family Planning Only Services for income eligible citizens.  The Wisconsin Well Woman Program provides preventative health screening services for income eligible women, both citizens and non-citizens.  Contact the Sauk County Health Department 608-355-3290 for more information on these programs.

*All pregnant women are eligible if lawfully present in the US.
